PROGRAM Questions

 

Fundraising is not required to participate, but it is a critical part of the program. Funds raised help us keep our exercise and critical needs grants going and the BreatheStrong+ program free for those with CF.

When you register, a page will automatically be created for you which will host your progress on activities as well as fundraising. Whether or not you share the fundraising page is up to you.

We’ve got so many ways for you to be in the loop:

  • Follow us on Instagram. It’s an exclusive account for BreatheStrong+ registrants, so we’ll accept your request to follow as soon as you’ve registered.
  • Join the Facebook Group. It’s a private group, so we’ll add you as soon as you’ve registered.
  • You’ll receive emails with upcoming activities.
  • We’ll communicate relevant information through the Charity Footprints Chat feature. On the mobile app, you’ll find Chat in the bottom menu.

Yes! People of all ages can participate. If your child doesn’t have an email address or computer access, you may create an account for them and use your email address so you’ll receive communications. We will offer alternate incentives if a child wins a prize.

We will ship your t-shirt after your account has reached 1,000 Footprints. Your total Footprints total is the sum of fitness points, fundraising points and wellness activity points. The Charity Footprints leaderboard will have a dashboard helping you keep track!

On the Charity Footprints app: Select Leaderboards from the menu at the bottom of the screen. You can toggle between Individual Leaderboard and Team Leaderboard from the box at the top of this page. Note: You can’t access individual progress pages through the app, you’ll need to follow browser directions for that feature.

From a browser:

  • Go to: www.charityfootprints.com/breathestrong
  • Click the short menu lines at the top right of the screen and select Log In.
  • Once logged in, click the arrow next to your profile picture to reveal the menu.
  • Select either Individual Leaderboard or Team Leaderboard.

 

First, apply for the giveaway at https://milesforcf.wufoo.com/forms/breathestrong-afflovest-giveaway-application/. If you apply more than once, we will consider your most recent application during the evaluation process.

Our team considers several factors when selecting a recipient: financial need, potential impact on quality of life and health, and substance of the application.

To be eligible for the AffloVest giveaway, participants must have a minimum of 5,000 points in Charity Footprints during the quarter.

We will continue to consider your application each quarter so long as the minimum point value is met. There’s no need to reapply unless you want to update the content in your application.

You can change your fundraising, miles or activity (wellness) points goals through your account on the Charity Footprints web site (not available on the app).

Prospective ambassadors complete an application (HERE). We have a steering committee that reviews the applications considering qualifications and experience with the CF committee. The application process is open year-round.

Adult classes through Beam CF are available for free for participants of BreatheStrong+, thanks to a generous contribution from the Helen E. Eisenman Fund. When you register for BreatheStrong+, your registration confirmation email will include a unique code to input upon checkout. Can’t find your code? Email rrockhold@milesforcf.org for support.

FITNESS AND ACTIVITY TRACKING Questions

Charity Footprints can connect with several fitness trackers. Once connected, you will automatically earn points for fitness! You can track your workouts by setting up your devices (Fitbit, Garmin, Apple Watch, Google Fit, Misfit, Strava), or download the Charity Footprints’ iOS or Android app and track your workouts.

From the Charity Footprints App:

  • At the bottom of the screen, click More
  • Click the button labeled Device Integrations
  • Select your device type and follow log-in instructions

From CharityFootrpints.com/Breathestrong:

  • Log in
  • Click the down arrow next to your profile picture at the top right of the screen
  • Scroll down to select Devices
  • Select your device type and follow log-in instructions

If you don’t have a tracker, the Charity Footprints app has a “Record Workout” option that captures distance for run, walk or bike workouts. Just take your phone along for the trip!
On the app, from the home page, scroll down to the green button RECORD WORKOUT.

Need an eligible tracker? Complete the CF questionnaire to be considered for a FitBit grant!

Connect a tracker

From the Charity Footprints App: Select MORE from the bottom right menu. Then Click Device Integrations.
From a web browser (www.charityfootprints.com/breathestrong): Click on the short menu lines at the top right of the screen and select log in.  Once logged in, click on the arrow next to your profile picture to reveal the menu. Click on Devices.

Use the Charity Footprints app for run, walk, bike distance
If you don’t have a tracker, the Charity Footprints app has a “Record Workout” option that captures distance for run, walk or bike workouts. Just take your phone along for the trip!

Manually enter exercise
There is a manual entry option.

  • From the app, scroll down the home page until you see My Fitness. Click the green Add button.
  • From the web site, you can upload your workouts here. Select Activities/Workouts from the dropdown menu.
  • We track miles. So, if you’ve done an alternate workout that is time-based, check our Minutes to Miles chart to record your fitness in miles.

You log your wellness activities in the same spot as you would log fitness time manually.

On the Charity Footprints app: scroll down the home page until you see My Activities. Click the green Add button. Click the plus sign at the top and select the activity.

From a browser:

  • Go to: www.charityfootprints.com/breathestrong
  • Click the short menu lines at the top right of the screen and select Log In.
  • Once logged in, click the navy button that reads LOG ACTIVITY at the top of the page to the left of your profile picture.

Click HERE to see all wellness activities you can log!

CHARITY FOOTPRINTS Questions

While registering for the campaign, select the team you’d like to join or create a new team. If you want to join a team (or create your team) after registration, login to the campaign site and you’ll find a link to edit “My Team” in the menu under your profile in the header.

  • Go to: www.charityfootprints.com/breathestrong
  • Click the short menu lines at the top right of the screen and select Log In.
  • Once logged in, click the arrow next to your profile picture at the top right of the screen.
  • You’ll see options for teams.

On the Charity Footprints app: Select Scrapbook from the menu at the bottom of the screen.

From a browser:

  • Go to: www.charityfootprints.com/breathestrong
  • Click the short menu lines at the top right of the screen and select Log In.
  • Once logged in, click the arrow next to your profile picture to reveal the menu.
  • Select Scrapbook

FUNDRAISING Questions

When you register, a progess page will automatically be created for you which will host your progress on activities as well as fundraising. Whether or not you share the fundraising page is up to you.

Absolutely. You are welcome to raise funds through Facebook, or submit checks to count toward your fundraising goal. If you start a Facebook fundraiser, simply select Miles for Cystic Fibrosis as your benefitting organization and message us letting us know what BreatheStrong+ name the funds should count toward.

If sending a check, please put BreatheStrong+ and the fundraiser’s name in the memo of the check. Checks can be mailed to:

We will ship your fundraising incentives as you reach each dollar milestone!

You can change your fundraising, miles or activity (wellness) points goals through your account on the Charity Footprints web site (not available on the app). From the dropdown menu, select Edit Progress Page.

On the Charity Footprints app: On the home page, scroll down to MY FUNDRAISING and click the green Invite button. You’ll have lots of options to share your page!

From a browser:

  • Go to: www.charityfootprints.com/breathestrong
  • Click the short menu lines at the top right of the screen and select Log In.
  • Once logged in, click the arrow next to your profile picture to reveal the menu.
  • Two options from the menu:
    • Select Invite Donors to send emails or,
    • Select My Progress Page. You can copy the URL at the top of your screen or click the social channels to share on Facebook, Twitter or WhatsApp
