Here’s How to Support CFLF’s Work

The contributions of time, talent, and money from thousands of volunteers, donors, sponsors and foundations have made it possible for the CFLF to impact the lives of people with CF for more than 20 years.

Generous contributions come in many forms from direct donations to gifts of assets, organizing events, connecting corporate partners, and in-kind giving of cars, boats, and space for events. Creative giving is often the best way to make the biggest difference. Below is a list of ways the CFLF currently receives contributions with willing potential to receive support in any form.

Support By Giving

Our goal is to help people with CF learn to live STRONGER and LONGER, or STROLO with CF, and your support helps make that happen!! You can support the CFLF by donating today in many different ways!

CFLF assists in providing avenues toward healthy and active lifestyles through recreation, thereby empowering and educating people with Cystic Fibrosis on the critical psychological, social, and emotional connections between their lifestyle and their health.

All checks can be sent to:
CFLF
PO Box 1565
Ronkonkoma, NY 11779

Donate a vehicle, watercraft or recreational vehicle that you no longer use for a tax-deductible donation. A few places you may want to check with if you’d like to make this type of contribution are 1-800 Charity Cars and Car Angel.

Communities often hold walk or run events as a way to raise money and increase awareness for numerous charities. If you’re looking for a way to keep your tax liability in check, consider agreeing to sponsor someone who is participating in this type of event such as an IronMan, Tough Mudder, marathon, or community 5k for the Cystic Fibrosis Lifestyle Foundation.

Often times investors are faced with significant capital gains taxes when liquidating assets for gifts or donations. The CFLF holds a Wells Fargo brokerage account through which assets can be transferred to tax free. As a 501(c)3, there are no capital gains tax realized when liquidated by the organization.

Legacy gifts like estate giving, income gifts, IRA rollovers, charitable lead trusts and real estate provide innovative ways for you to support our next generation of individuals with CF and the areas of the CFLF that mean the most to you.

When you leave a legacy gift to the CFLF, you support our next generation of students and empower us to create opportunities for positive change. Planned gifts such as estate giving, income gifts, IRA rollovers, charitable lead trusts and real estate help sustain and strengthen the University for years to come. Planned giving allows you to connect your legacy with ours and use your success to improve the lives of others.

Whether it is your birthday or other meaningful mile mark for you, celebrate through creating an Facebook or Instagram campaign for the CFLF. All funds from donors are received 100% with no transactional fees. Other creative ways are creating shirts or apparel for you and your friends (maybe a group trip to have matching shirts) through Custom Ink fundraising.

Either on your own or with neighbors, bring together items that are in good condition that you no longer use and put them out for sale with proceeds going to the CFLF. It is important to inform shoppers and lookers that the proceeds will help benefit people living with cystic fibrosis. Often times, conversations arise that may even turn into direct donations!

Whether it is in your school, library, local market or favorite restaurant, or even the chamber of commerce, often times business welcome placing a jar on their counter to collect donations for a period of time. The funds raised can either be deposited to a local TD Bank or Chase Bank (call us for account numbers), or mailed to us as a check (we prefer cash is not mailed).

Some of the most successful grassroots fundraising efforts have also been the most wild. A 24-hour bounce house on the side of the road with great signage collected more than $8,000 from cars passing by. Kids lemonade stands can raise hundreds of dollars. Having a BBQ pool party with a cannonball contest is another way to get friends involved with asking a nominal ‘entry fee’. Get creative, have fun, and let us know how we can help.

Always stay up-to-date.
