Our Impact
Since being founded in 2003, the Cystic Fibrosis Lifestyle Foundation (CFLF) has led the community on integrating exercise as part of disease management. The CFLF impact on the cystic fibrosis community has transformed lives and treatment protocol from a time when exercise was believed to be detrimental to CF.
As recently as 1982, not much research existed about exercise and CF.
Early research suggested that exercise could actually be more detrimental than beneficial for people living with CF.
The CFLF moves the dial on integrating exercise in the medical arena.
In 2006, the North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference (NACFC) had one session about exercise and CF. In 2008, one year following the launch of the CFLF Recreation Grant program, the NACFC theme focussed on exercise and CF.
for recreation grants are approved, limited funds have made CF Recreation Grants a competitive program.
Our Annual Reports
Transparency is an essential part of the CFLF values in sharing with donors, care providers, patients and sponsors the impact of every dollar on impacting lives like Sabrina’s.
