Miles for Cystic Fibrosis, Big Peach Sizzler Race Director

Miles for CF’s annual Big Peach Sizzler 10K/5K is on Labor Day in Atlanta. So many of our supporters can’t make it to the in-person race, so we’ve developed Sizzler to Go – Our Race in Your Place. It’s your opportunity to run the race with family and friends right where you are.

The first step in planning your walk or run can be very intimidating, especially if you don’t know where to go. Keep it simple.

Let’s plan your To-Go 5K!

Walk out your front door.

If you live in an area with sidewalks or wide shouldered roads, you are in the middle of an opportunity. Don’t overthink it. Open your front door and start following the sidewalk. To determine how far you have gone you can use your fitness tracker or get an approximate location by measuring the distance with your car.

No sidewalks by your house?

Check out your local greenway. Many towns are purposefully creating greenways to encourage residents to get outside and go for a walk or run. The benefit of going to a greenway can be the energy of others out there doing what you are doing as well as most greenways have distances marked to let you know how far you have gone.

Not sure where runners and walkers hang out?

Runners and walkers LOVE to bring new people into the fold, ask your neighbor or friend where they get their run done. They will have a lot of suggestions and you may just get offered company. Your running and walking friends will also let you know the distances of their routes.
