2022 Recreation Grant Cycle Is Now Open

We aim to help supplement traditional medical treatment of CF with ongoing exercise through our recreational grant program. Each grant is geared towards the formation of an active lifestyle that benefits both the physical and psychological elements of CF.

CFLF will pay directly for activities (within six months following
the deadline) to the billing activity company or organization. Funds,
including reimbursement for past activities, will NOT be paid to
the grant recipient.

Only one Recreation Grant can be awarded per recipient per year. (Example: If an applicant was approved in April 2020, they would
not be eligible for approval again until April 2021).

My son is so excited to play football this coming school
year. It’s been his dream and this is the first year he’s
been cleared by all doctors to play. He just now needs
to get practice before high school starts so he will safely know what he’s doing. Thank y’all for helping him bring
his dream to life.

Our Reaction Grants

Since 2007, more than 2,000 awards have been provided in support of recreation activities totaling more than $1,000,000. These grants support people with cystic fibrosis in living their best and fullest lives.

Individual Recreational Grants

This grant is to encourage activities that physically challenges both the body and the lungs. Applications are accepted bi-annually and directly fund the physical activity of the recipient’s choice up to $500.

Loretta Morris Grants

Loretta Morris Memorial Fund was established in 2010. The Fund was set up by her sister, Barbara Morris Harison  with the goal of providing recreation grants to help those living with CF enjoy an active lifestyle.

Canadian Recreation Grants

Support CF patients with direct financial assistance in affording recreational activities that have respiratory and psychosocial benefit. Whether it is a new activity or continuing to pursue an established passion, the costs of living with CF and impact on earning ability can often make exercise-related costs a barrier.

This grant accepts applicants on a rolling basis

Peer Support Grants

This grant allows recipients the opportunity to include a friend in their activity of choice. We feel that by offering a partnership in the recreation grant activity that there is often more excitement and motivation, thus creating positive feelings toward staying active.
